European here, Dutch. 46 years old, ready to retire early by the end of the year. No crypto YOLOs, just "regular" investments. So it's definitely possible. Americans might find it easier to accumulate a large nest egg, but they have to build in such an insane buffer for healthcare costs I think I prefer Europe in this regard. Less unknowns, so easier to plan.

The interest rate is 4% YEARLY, so the monthly compounding takes into consideration that one's month interest will itself return interest the next months. You're not receiving 4%/12 interest each month but a little less!! (such that after one year the total return is 4%)

Hi Angelo, I’m currently buying bitcoin as a small section of my weekly investments on TR. With TR as you know, you can’t receive or move crypto. Do you see a potential problem with that, rather than using an exchange an storing my bitcoin in a hard wallet? Im buying bitcoin from an investment standpoint, not really to use it as a currency (like almost anyone I guess). Also I’d like to know if possible what makes you invest in etherum as well rather than just bitcoin. To me, its centralised nature makes it riskier and less desirable, but Im curious to hear your opinion :)

Hi Angelo, i am looking for your advice on this one. I have started investing last year and before I found your channel and your suggestion on the ftse all world I already put money into the msci and SP500. Currently 40% of my portfolio is in the ftse 40% in the msci and 20% in the SP500. Now I wonder if it is better to switch all of it to the ftse or just keep the SP and MSCI and just focus on the ftse from now on. So should I keep all and from now on only invest in the ftse? Or sell the msci and sp and put that in the ftse ( here I am afraid of taxes and the higher buy in point) ? Best regards form Germany

Unfortunately, I can not say anything positive anymore about Trade republic. After they replaced an invoice and prevented me to log in on time, so I can sell my position and reinvest the amount on time, i can not recommend this broker at all. The operational risk (employees or technical) with this broker is too high. Unfortunately, i can not be certain, that with this broker your money won`t be at risk, because you have for example experienced mobbying by some of your previous employers, who happens to have contacts by Trade Republic. I have to be blind to not see the connection.

It is more about what you do, than where you live. A lot of people in the US can not retire early, and they can't even retire when they reach their retirement age, because they have no money. Early retirement is about setting yourself up for an early retirement. That can be done in the US, and that can be done in Europe (or anywhere else for that sake).

Early retirement is feasible if you follow these three mantras: a) Work above and beyond in your chosen field. b) Defer all your "toys" for after retirement c) Manage your own savings in order to obtain better returns than the average wealth manager. I've never had a girlfriend, never had a house, never had a car, never had expensive personal items (TV, watch, sofa) until I retired at 37. I've managed my savings ever since I was 16, worked through school, and despite making 500k-2mil a year between 2007 and 2017 (the year I retired) I've never went eating out if it wasn't on corporate business. Returns for my investments compounded to 23% a year, something a wealth manager would never guarantee (I went for BB and B+ sovereign debt countries) and upon retirement became a consultant charging 2-3K an hour in my field of expertise. Tesla was instrumental in me having my current lifestyle, with shares ballooning in 2019 ( shares exploded at a time I had over 70% of my net worth in Tesla stock). After that I became a Monaco resident and stopped do consulting work last year. I always worked in countries with no work or income tax (Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Luxembourg) in order to have the maximum available money to invest. So, its possible, but it takes a lot of discipline (I never married, I don't have kids, and only bought my first house in 2021, aged 42)
